Volunteer Opportunity – Event Support
Do you love meeting new people and making a difference in your community? Are you passionate about supporting a great cause? If so, we’d love for you to join our charity team!
Location: Various events within the Basildon district
Hours: Flexible, depending on event schedules
Commitment Terms: Minimum of 4 events per year
About Us: We are a Wickford-based charity dedicated to supporting neurodivergent children, young people, and their families. Our goal at these events is to increase awareness and acceptance of neurodiversity and let people know about the vital services we offer and connect with as many people as possible who could benefit from our support.
What we’re looking for:
- Friendly, approachable, and confident talking to people
- Reliable and willing to work as part of a team
- Passionate about our cause and making a difference
- No prior experience needed—just enthusiasm and a positive attitude!
What you’ll do:
- Assist with setting up and packing down our event stall, ensuring everything is well-organized and welcoming.
- Engage with the local community, chatting with attendees and sharing information about our services.
- Answer questions, provide leaflets, and help raise awareness of our mission.
- Support any on-the-day activities, such as collecting donations.
- Be a friendly and approachable representative of our charity, helping to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
Requirements of the role:
- All volunteers will need to complete relevant training to help ensure the smooth running of our services and to support a safe, effective environment for everyone involved.
- Undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
- Provide two references.
