Covid-19 stopped the usual Barleylands Fun Walk this year, but that didn’t stop the fundraising. The Takiwatanga team embraced the idea of the Virtual Fun Walk and joined together (whilst keeping in our family bubbles) to walk either 2K or 5K around Wickford and Shotgate. The weather was glorious and despite our contingency plans for some of the children to walk the shorter route, everyone managed the full 5K. A massive thanks to everyone who sponsored us. The Fun Walk is our main fundraising event this year, as everything else had to be cancelled, and we are so very grateful to everyone who donated, especially during these uncertain times. Further thanks to Jenne for planning the route and leading the way; Tiffers for the First Aid cover (which thankfully wasn’t needed) and keeping everyone amused and Danny and Clive for letting us use the facilities at Wickford Town Football Club for our starting point and finishing line.
